Welcome

to 3rd International Symposium on Hemangiomas and Vascular Malformations of the Head and Neck

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

we are very happy and also proud to be able to announce the 3rd International Symposium on Hemangiomas and Vascular Malformations of the Head and Neck.

The first international symposium on this topic was held in February 2008 when we met in Marburg. Many great experiences and friendships emerged from this first meeting and the success of this event motivated us to continue on this way. We developed an intensive cooperation with our colleagues from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences who organized the very successful 2nd International Symposium in October 2009 in Little Rock, themed "Innovations and Controversies".

Our initially rather small circle of colleagues who are interested in this special topic has grown rapidly and the quality of the meetings contributed to our high interest in pursuing our objectives.

A specialized center that cares for international patients cannot do without the knowledge of experts who are found widespread in the whole world. At the end there is always the objective of continuous improvement of the patients' care and also the intensive exchange of knowledge and experiences in clinical and basic research. Thus our meeting in 2011 is entitled "Interdisciplinary Commitment and Global Networking". We are honored to welcome highly experienced and reputed experts from the whole world who will actively contribute to our meeting.
For the 3rd symposium we will organize an interactive meeting for April 7, 2011, that precedes the scientific program of the next days. This interactive part is meant to enhance the intensive exchange between experts. Additionally, our young fellows and scientist will have the possibility to come in direct contact with distinguished specialists who are well-reputed due to their long experience in the field of vascular anomalies.

So we are seeking a further development of the series of International Symposia on Hemangiomas and Vascular Malformations of the Head and Neck and we will do everything possible to make this meeting most informative and of highest quality.

On behalf of the organizing committee we want to invite you cordially to come to Marburg, Germany, to attend the meeting. Please retrieve all relevant information from our website www.angioma2011.org and register soon. Submissions of multimedia presentations are very welcome. Contributions may be submitted as lectures or posters. We want to invite especially young colleagues and scientists in this field to submit their abstracts. The deadline for abstract submission is January 31, 2011. You may send your abstracts to:
